Thailand To Become Major Global Wellness Hub

04 February 2016

The Thai Public Health Ministry, in cooperation with the Tourism and Sports Ministry are developing strategies aimed at bringing more medical tourism to the country. A 10‐year plan has been drafted to promote the Kingdom as a major medical tourism hub and increase its popularity among those seeking high‐quality medical treatment.

Thailand has established a strong reputation as one of Asia’s major wellness destinations. The number of tourists arriving in Thailand to improve their health, recover from sicknesses and exhaustion, and restore natural harmony has steadily increased since the 2000s. Reasons include the affordable medical services offered by quality private hospitals, which offer perfect value for money for visitors. Many of Thailand’s practitioners have been trained in the USA or Europe.
