Thais Build on Successes as Sport Hub

Thailand is building on its success as a host for local, regional, and international sporting events, firmly establishing itself as a sports hub with a reputation as an ideal holiday destination for sports lovers.

Apart from the Air Race 1 event that Thailand will later this year and the Air Race 1 World Cup to be held next year, a number of exciting championships and tournaments are coming to the Kingdom. They include:

  • Phuket Laguna Triathlon (20 November 2016, Phuket)
  • Princess Cup 2016 for Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing (25–27 November, Bangkok)
  • 2016 Ironman 70.3 Thailand (27 November 2016, Phuket)
  • Jet Ski World Cup (2–4 December, Pattaya)
  • Phuket King’s Cup Regatta (3–10 December, Phuket)
  • Chiang Mai Marathon (18 December, Chiang Mai)
  • Bangkok Marathon (5 February 2017, Bangkok)

“Thailand is a welcoming nation that offers culture, adventure, medical care, shopping, and hospitality. It caters to events of all types,” said Yuthasak Supasorn, governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
