New Ferry Routes Planned

25 April 2017

This May, the Royal Passenger Liner will launch new ferry service between Sattahip and Koh Chang, and between Sattahip and Hua Hin, according to marine department Director-General Sorasak Saensombat.

The first route will follow the east coast between Chuk Samet pier in Chon Buri’s Sattahip district and Bang Bao pier on Trat’s Chang island. The second route will connect Sattahip with Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan, across the Gulf of Siam.

The company is planning to purchase two new vessels, each capable to accommodating 350 passengers, and is obtaining permissions to use the seaports. Fares are also being calculated.

The official launch will be preceded with trial runs on both routes.

Royal Passenger Liner operates the Pattaya – Hua Hin ferry service which, according to Sorasak, carried 10,689 passengers during February and March 2017.
