Thai aviation companies were widely lauded and received well-deserved recognition during the Skytrax 2017 World Airline Awards, announced during the Paris Air Show on 20 June.
Skytrax, a United Kingdom–based international air transport rating organization, named
Thai Airways International best in three categories: Best Economy Class Airline; World’s Best Airline Lounge Spa; and Best Economy Class Onboard Catering.
Bangkok Airways won awards for World's Best Regional Airline and Asia's Best Regional Airline.
The Skytrax awards have earned a reputation as the world’s most prestigious airline industry awards. They were established in 1999, after Skytrax launched its first global airline customer satisfaction survey. Often dubbed the Oscars of the global aviation industry, Skytrax Awards are based on passengers’ reviews.
This year's survey was conducted between August 2017 through May 2017 and involved 19.9 million respondents and covered 320 airlines.
