Hopes High for Phuket’s Food Fest

13 September 2017

The Phuket Street Food Festival will take place on 16 - 17 September. The event focuses on traditional dishes, and seafood as well as the creative and rare delicacies offered by fine dining restaurants from across the island. The public will select food from more than 50 stalls.

In 2015, Phuket Town was named a Gastronomy City by UNESCO — the 19th city worldwide to bear that recognition.

The festival showcases the authenticity of the local cuisine, a sophisticated blend of cooking traditions borrowed from various peoples and nations. The event should attract both Thai and international visitors, and local authorities hope that it will trigger regional growth in business tourism.

The Phuket Street Food Festival 2017 will be held on the 72nd anniversary of Queen Sirikit Park on Thalang Road in Phuket Town.
