Angkor Wat Tops TripAdvisor’s Annual Rating

06 December 2017

Cambodia’s Angkor temple complex has topped a list of the world’s top 25 landmarks in the annual TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice poll.

Built in the 11th century, Angkor was the capital of the ancient Khmer Empire. The majestic ruins make a stunning impression. At present, the city covers 200 square kilometers and includes more than 100 temples and palaces. A tour to Angkor Wat provided by SAYAMA Travel also includes a boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake, often dubbed Cambodia’s inland sea. Tours to Cambodia are available from Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Chang.

Bangkok’s Wat Pho, also known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, was also included on the TripAdvisor list in 21st place.

The rating of Asia’s top landmarks encompasses three sites in Thailand: Wat Pho ranked 4th, and the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha were ranked 9th and 14th respectively.
