Caravaggio Exhibition Underway in Bangkok

08 May 2018

Works by Italian artist Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio will be displayed during the "Caravaggio Opera Omnia" exhibition held at the Bangkok Art Culture Centre between 2 May and 10 June.

The exhibition will feature reproductions of 40 masterpieces, including Bacchus, Medusa, Boy Bitten By A Lizard, and Saint Matthew and the Angel. The originals are displayed at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, the Grand Louvre in Paris, the National Gallery in London, Galleria Borghese in Rome, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and other renowned museums.

Every item is a digital capture and high-resolution reproduction, using innovative digital technologies. The whole process was thoroughly monitored by both Italian and international art historians.

Music performances by Silpakorn University's Faculty of Music at 19:00 every Tuesday will enhance the atmosphere of the event.

Venue: Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Main Gallery, 7th floor.

Admission free.
