New Ferry Service Gets Tryout

23 August 2017

Ferry service is being tested on the Sattahip — Kog Chang route. Pending the successful trial, regular service will begin next month with a fare of around 1,000 THB. The trip from Sattahip to Pattaya will take around 3.5 hours, compared with five hours now.

The route runs along the east coast, starting at Juk Samet port in Chonbouri and finishing at Bang Bao pier on Koh Chang.

The new service is expected to reduce the number of cars on the island and make it easier for tourists to get there. Royal Passenger Liner, the service operator, also plans to launch Sattahip — Hua Hin and Sattahip — Pran Buri routes in the future.
